Logipix general description

logipix The Logipix camera designed by STP Ltd is a multi-megapixel security camera with the same price category as good quality analog cameras.

With 9.1 Megapixel CMOS image sensors, Logipix delivers high detailed and sharp images.

Logipix pictures contain 20 times more pixels than standard analog cameras. Due to the higher resolution the size of the viewing area is 5 times wider and higher than in the case of analogue cameras.

This feature allows to use fewer cameras to surveillance the same sized area.

Introduction of Logipix

The Logipix is qualified for the surveillance of outside areas or low-lighted places. In case of decreasing lighting the built-in IR filter is removed automatically in order to utilize the IR lights also.

Of course, the drastic improvement in quality involves the growth of the picture-size as well. The Logi-zoom function and the JPEG2000- based flexible monitoring software allows to transmit multi-megapixel information in the same bandwidth as in case of analog systems.

The Logipix can be used successfully in wide range of security applications, such as banknote or plate number recognition and full-scale face-identification, where the usage of Logipix can increase the performance and can decrease the cost of the solution.

The significant growth in resolution, the applied compression technology and the price category of the Logipix camera provide excellent alternatives for wide range of security applications in contrast to the conventional analog or megapixel systems.

The features of Logipix

What makes your product innovative and different from similar products?

The improvement in the picture quality in consumer electronics had an effect on security industry. There are several key factors that affect the spreading of the high resolution technology in the security applications. The first is the cost of the camera, the second is the required bandwidth of remote monitoring.

The main goal of development

Logipix meets the above requirements which we could accomplish with the help of the latest microelectronics technology, the self developed application-specific digital signal processor and the JPEG2000 picture-compression method.

Logipix uses progressive scanning. This method helps to reach higher vertical resolution than interlaced video with the same frame rate.

Each frame is compressed individually. The video signal is compressed according to the JPEG2000 standard. The JPEG2000 video compression standard was developed for high resolution pictures. One of the main features of this standard is the scalability. This means that you can scale the picture resolution without any complicated recoding procedure. It is particularly important in multi-megapixel systems. This feature allows the usage of this high resolution surveillance system over low bandwidth communication channel, like ADSL or GPRS/EDGE.

Logipix camera use Logi-zoom function to provide excellent monitoring in spite of the low bandwidth. JPEG2000 allows to send frames in lower resolution to the monitoring center. The Logipix camera can send just the requested, digitally zoomed area to the monitoring center in the desired display resolution. The name of this function is Logi-zoom. You can use this function in live-view and archive video playback too.

Digital Backlight Compensation feature helps to eliminate disturbing back light. Logipix has wide dynamic range. Built-in special Low Voltage Power over Ethernet feature enables the camera to be powered via the network. This solution helps to reduce installation cost by eliminating the need for separate power supply wiring.
