The server modules of the STP are applications built around a database manager, serving client software and running as service. These modules keep in contact with the database, with the controllers and the client software through a 1500 bit RSA encryption protected virtual channel.
For example one module gets the log data from the controllers steadily, processes them, while another module provides the users of the client software an SQL-based access to these data.
The STP System uses the structure of the server client. The client software can be run on the various computers of the network, as well as the server computer.
